Nikhil Bumb

Nikhil Bumb has significant experience advising multinational corporations, governments, international NGOs, foundations, and social enterprises on emerging markets and social impact strategies, with an explicit focus on equity, systems change, and market-based approaches. At FSG, Nikhil leverages his experience in the social and private sectors to work with clients to build more inclusive, collaborative, and equitable markets and systems that uplift the voices of and improve outcomes for marginalized communities. Nikhil’s work has spanned a range of issues including health, agricultural development, financial inclusion, economic development, education, humanitarian aid and disaster relief, and impact investing across Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe. He has experience living in the United States, Kenya, and India.

Nikhil co-leads FSG’s Corporate Racial Equity practice. In addition to the publications listed below, he is also a co-author of Beyond Trade-Offs in The Economist.

Before FSG

Nikhil started his career at ZS Associates as a marketing and strategy consultant for the healthcare and life sciences industries. During business school, he began exploring the intersection between business and society. Prior to FSG, Nikhil helped build and launch Deloitte Consulting’s Social Impact Practice and also worked on multiple shared value projects with Technoserve’s Strategic Initiatives group. At Deloitte, his engagements spanned public, private, and social sector clients across issues areas including agricultural development, inclusive economies, humanitarian aid, economic development, and global health. Previously, Nikhil helped Medtronic develop a penetration strategy and framework for a shared value strategy addressing unmet clinical needs for underserved populations in emerging and frontier markets. He has also advised several nonprofits and social enterprises in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
