Nikhil Bumb

Nikhil Bumb is a Managing Director at FSG, where he leads the firm’s corporate practice and guides companies in advancing purpose‑led and market‑shaping strategies that strengthen inclusive and collaborative systems. His work centers on expanding economic opportunity, improving societal well‑being, and driving better outcomes for undervalued communities and the planet.

A recognized thought leader, Nikhil is a co‑author of the Purpose Playbook and the Beyond Trade‑Offs series originally published in The Economist, and a co‑founder of FSG’s Purpose Studio. His cross‑sector expertise spans health, agriculture, sustainability, financial inclusion, economic development, and humanitarian relief.

Nikhil has served as a trusted advisor to leading global companies, including 3M, Apollo Global Management, Bristol Myers Squibb, Cargill, JPMorgan Chase, Kimberly‑Clark, Merck, and Novo Nordisk, helping senior executives translate ambition into measurable impact. Beyond the private sector, he has partnered with governments, investors, NGOs, foundations, and social enterprises across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

Outside of his professional commitments, Nikhil is an avid traveler, an amateur wildlife photographer, and a dancer blending together South Asian and other global styles, pursuits that reflect his curiosity about the world and his appreciation for the natural environments and communities he works to support.

Before FSG

Nikhil began his career at ZS Associates as a commercial strategy and analytics consultant for the healthcare and life sciences industries, before pivoting to explore the intersection of business and society. Prior to FSG, Nikhil helped build and launch Deloitte Consulting’s Social Impact Practice and worked on shared value projects with Technoserve’s Strategic Initiatives group. At Medtronic, he helped design a shared value business addressing unmet clinical needs for underserved populations in emerging and frontier markets. Independently, Nikhil has advised several nonprofits and social enterprises in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
