Isra brings over 15 years of leadership experience across nonprofit organizations, federal government, academia, political campaigns, and the military. She is a collaborative and consensus-driven leader, known for her problem-solving abilities and decisive action. Isra is passionate about driving meaningful organizational change through inclusive and strategic approaches, and she excels at translating big-picture ideas into practice.
Before FSG
Prior to joining FSG, Isra held a series of influential roles, including a presidential appointment at the U.S. Department of the Interior from 2012 to 2015. Over the past decade, she served as the inaugural Chief of Staff at multiple nonprofits focused on environment, climate, and gender justice.
In these roles, Isra led executive teams, guided strategic planning efforts, and advanced diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. Her professional toolkit includes high-impact project management, organizational strategy, labor relations, team development, and internal communications.
A military veteran, Isra serves as a Civil Affairs Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. She is also a trained mediator and facilitator with a strong background in macro social work.
