Colleen McCann

Colleen comes to FSG with a background in program evaluation and research, primarily in the areas of K-12 education and youth development in the United States. As a senior consultant on the Strategic Learning & Evaluation team, Colleen works with clients to develop strategic approaches to evaluating their work. She assists clients with identifying organizational priorities, goals, and strategies for achieving impact. Colleen closely partners with clients to design systems that enable them to measure progress towards their goals, learn about their impact, and apply their learning to inform future work.

Before FSG

Before she joined FSG, Colleen developed expertise as a research analyst and evaluator of education and youth-related initiatives. She worked with a wide range of clients, including small local nonprofits, school districts, local and state governments, and private foundations, to develop theories of change, strategic evaluation frameworks, and data collection and analysis processes, in service of helping each organization to learn from their work and achieve their goals for social impact. Colleen began her career in the field of education as a community organizer, working with parents and teachers to advocate for better education policy. That work instilled in her a deep belief in the power of people and organizations to affect significant and meaningful change when they come together around a shared vision.

On Working At FSG

I came to FSG because I care deeply about affecting social change in a number of areas, and the opportunity to work with clients and colleagues dedicated to finding strategic and impactful ways to address our most pressing social problems is a dream come true. I’m so inspired by the people I interact with on a daily basis—the passion, smarts, and creativity that FSG staff and our clients bring to the work is incredible. Helping organizations and initiatives identify their goals, develop theories of change that reflect their worldview and unique strengths, and design strategies for assessing and learning from their work truly excites me. Working at FSG gives me the chance to do what I love every day, and I’m always learning and growing here by working across different social impact areas and engaging with new people.
