Wilma Wallace is an experienced strategic advisor and board member of corporate and social impact organizations, with over 25 years of diverse experience in retail, consumer products, services, and wellness. Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions in organizations ranging from global multi-channel enterprises to small cooperatives and startups.
Most recently, Wilma served as the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Diversity & Social Impact Officer at REI. During her tenure, she was instrumental in founding the REI Cooperative Action Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering equity in outdoor access and served as the organization’s first Board Chair. Under her leadership, REI was recognized by Forbes in 2023 as the top brand for social impact.
Before joining REI, Wilma was Chief Legal Counsel for Enveritas, an international startup focused on sustainable practices in the coffee industry across the global south.
Wilma began her corporate career at Gap Inc., where she advanced through increasingly senior roles over two decades, ultimately serving as Vice President of Sustainability and Deputy General Counsel. In this capacity, she had responsibility for global legal teams, regulatory compliance, award winning ethics programs, government affairs, public policy, and sustainability initiatives.
Currently, Wilma is a member of the Board of Directors of Premera, a Blue Cross healthcare administrator, and serves as Board Vice-Chair for Landesa, an organization committed to poverty alleviation and climate justice through land rights. She continues to serve on the Board of the REI Cooperative Action Fund.
