Anand Nandakumar is a senior advisor to FSG based in Singapore. He leads FSG’s efforts in Southeast Asia to partner with corporations, foundations, impact investors, and development agencies in creating and implementing meaningful, actionable strategies to address key development issues using the principles of shared value creation, collective impact, and inclusive market-based solutions.
Anand has over 20 years of experience in strategy consulting and industry. He has led and worked on strategy consulting projects with leading corporations, government bodies, not-for-profit entities, and multi-lateral agencies across emerging markets in Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, and South Africa. Anand’s work has covered issues pertaining to socio-economic development strategy, enhancing regional and country competitiveness, industry cluster development, social sector development, urban development, masterplanning, public-private partnerships, market-based solutions to address poverty, and regulatory reform. His work with private sector clients has covered corporate and growth strategy, market/industry assessment, market sizing and entry strategy, marketing strategy, competitor benchmarking, scenario planning, consumer segmentation and activation, organization redesign, and go-to-market strategy.
Prior to FSG, Anand worked with Monitor Deloitte, Accenture, and Hindustan Unilever. In his most recent role as a director with Monitor Deloitte, Anand helped set up and lead Deloitte’s public sector strategy and international donor organizations practice in Southeast Asia. He was also one of the key senior advisors on GovLab, a joint initiative between Deloitte and Singapore’s Economic Development Board, to develop innovative solutions to address high priority development issues and challenges in Singapore and Southeast Asia. He is also passionate about and a mentor to social enterprise start-ups that are using technology in a transformative manner to address social issues.
