BOSTON, April 21, 2021—We applaud the verdict in the Chauvin trial and hope it brings a measure of comfort to the family of George Floyd and those who loved him.
But we know that accountability does not equal justice, one verdict will not change a system, and the fight for an equitable society is far from over. Black people continue to suffer under the weight of an oppressive judicial system and so we recommit ourselves to fighting structural racism in all its forms.
