Santiago joins FSG with a variety of nonprofit and consulting experiences, with particular interest in education, social mobility, and racial equity. He is passionate about the role of cross-sector collaboration in creating shared value initiatives to maximize wide-scale and sustainable social change. As a consultant, Santiago conducts stakeholder interviews, performs secondary research, and works alongside case team members to develop client-customized strategic recommendations to address social inequities.
Before FSG
As an undergraduate, Santiago’s academic focus centered on various social systems and their intersections, ranging from race and ethnicity to socioeconomic class and gender. As the co-founder and co-president of Princeton University Latinx Perspectives Organization (PULPO), he led educational campaigns to raise on-campus awareness of issues pertaining to the Latinx community, with a focus on Latinidad’s intersection with gender identity, sexual orientation, and race.
Prior to FSG, during his time as an associate consultant at VIVA Social Impact Partners, Santiago was a project manager. He supported clients across a wide variety of operational, research, and learning development workstreams. Additionally, Santiago supported various communications projects for clients which ranged from social media management and content development, as well as bilingual communications (English and Spanish), to video storyboard development and website copy drafting. As a senior operations associate at Decolonize Design, he conducted organizational climate assessments of client organizations, involving both primary and secondary research, to support client’s in pushing the needle on their diversity, equity, and inclusion objectives.
