Women’s World Banking

Women’s World Banking (WWB) is a nonprofit network organization that seeks to alleviate global poverty by expanding the economic assets, participation and power of the poor, especially women. WWB is a global network of 54 microfinance providers and banks, working in 30 countries to bring financial services and information to low-income entrepreneurs. WWB offers its network members a range of carefully designed technical and advisory services and actively promotes the exchange of best practices among its members.

FSG has helped WWB to:

• Develop a strategy for WWB’s expansion into Africa, based on the unique assets and resources WWB brings to address the specific challenges and opportunities in microfinance in African markets
• As part of the research, FSG prepared detailed case studies highlighting WWB’s opportunities for several African countries, facilitated the selection of priority countries for WWB’s expansion, and conducted field visits to multiple countries to identify promising network members for WWB
