The James Irvine Foundation seeks to expand opportunity for the people of California to participate in a vibrant, successful, and inclusive society. The Foundation's work focuses enhancing the educational and economic prospects of low-income Californians, enhancing civic and cultural engagement, fostering mutual understanding and enriching California's intellectual and creative environment.
The James Irvine Foundation engaged FSG to evaluate its Community Foundations Initiative, which is designed to accelerate the growth and leadership of nine small and emerging community foundations in rural areas of California.
FSG has also helped the Irvine Foundation's Community Foundations Initiative in the following manner:
"FSG's research on sustainability has been both provocative and extremely meaningful to the small community foundations in our Community Foundations Initiative II. The FSG team has made complex information quite understandable to our grantees, and their collegiality, professionalism and willingness to actively share resources have made them an integral part of the effort."
