New Schools for New Orleans

New Schools for New Orleans (NSNO) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2006 to improve the quality of public school options in New Orleans. NSNO has played a critical role in creating new open-enrollment charter schools that has included providing support services to operating charter schools; recruiting and developing quality teachers and school leaders; and engaging in advocacy to improve all public schools.

New Schools for New Orleans engaged FSG to develop a strategic plan that would build on the organization’s success and map out a plan for future growth and impact in one of the nation’s most exciting hotbeds for education reform.

FSG has also helped NSNO and a steering committee of local education stakeholders to:

  • Explore the demand, feasibility, priorities, and structure for a potential New Orleans education fund as a citywide education reform strategy, based on local and national stakeholder input and research on analogous city-wide charter strategies in Newark, DC, and New York City
  • Craft a proposal for a potential New Orleans education fund
